WASHINGTON, DC – In response to President Biden’s State of the Union remarks this evening, Miriam Calderón, Chief Policy Officer at ZERO TO THREE issued the following statement:
“ZERO TO THREE has urged Congress and the Administration to prioritize the needs of babies and their families in five key areas: maternal health, infant and early childhood mental health, child care, housing, and economic security. Tonight, President Biden committed to lead the charge on these critical reforms, calling for action on the Child Tax Credit, affordable housing, access to early care and education, paid leave, protecting access to reproductive health care and other critical issues.
“The President laid out a path towards a future where families are empowered and have choices about their baby’s future. The reforms championed by President Biden would make our nation a better and fairer nation to have and raise a baby.
“Now, Congress must work with the Administration to deliver for families and babies.”
