As ZERO TO THREE’s Lead Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Emeobong (Eme) Martin is responsible for leading the organization’s strategic development and implementation of work to address the needs of overlooked and under-resourced communities.
Eme brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role and is a widely recognized expert on topics related to cultural humility, racial and gender equity, and immigrant health. She is passionate about addressing health equity and received the inaugural National Minority Quality Forum’s 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health Award in 2016.
Prior to joining ZERO TO THREE, Eme was the Regional Director for Health Systems with the Alzheimer’s Association, where she was responsible for building strategic partnerships with the top 25 health care systems throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia and led the partnership strategy with the Veterans Health Administration for the Association. She previously held various positions with the Adventist HealthCare Center for Health Equity and Wellness focused on community health, health equity and provider education and training and oversaw strategic community health implementation for MedStar Health’s greater Washington, DC region. Eme received a BS from Brigham Young University and an MPH from Saint Louis University.
